Acupuncture for Motor Vehicle Accidents

Are you suffering from pain after a car accident? Whether you're experiencing headaches, whiplash, pain, emotional distress, psychological trauma, or other injuries, acupuncture is an effective form of treatment.

How Acupuncture Can Help You Recover from a Motor Vehicle Accident

Acupuncture helps to heal your body by:

  • Restoring circulation and nutrition to damaged tissues

  • Acting on the nervous system to block pain signals as well as encourages your body to release your natural pain killer chemicals called endorphins.

  • Reducing inflammation

  • Stimulating trigger points and muscle knots, which reduces muscle spasms and helps your muscles release and relax.

  • Helping you to regulate your autonomic nervous system, and reduces the production of your stress hormones which creates an overall sense of wellbeing.

  • Promoting healthy organ function, which provides your body with the best possible environment for healing.

Every recovery plan is unique.

At Red Sage Wellness, we recognize that every individual’s pain, medical history and concerns are different. We treat you as a whole person instead of just your injury. Discover and bring awareness to new or chronic tension patterns, address inflammation, anxiety & stress, and develop the optimum environment for healing from motor vehicle accident injuries.

Full recovery from your injuries is our goal.

ICBC Enhanced Care Early Access Period

Under Enhanced Care, ICBC customers will continue to have early access treatments, previously known as preauthorized treatments, which meet their rehabilitation needs. Early access treatments are available within the first 12 weeks following a crash.

Within 12 Weeks of Accident

You can book an initial assessment and treatment. You will need to bring the ICBC claim number. There is no pre-approval necessary for up to 12 treatments within those 12 weeks following the accident. If further treatment is necessary after the allotted time, we will submit a treatment plan to your ICBC claims adjuster and await approval.

After the 12 Week Early Access Period

You can book an initial assessment and treatment.  We will request approval for that initial visit and treatment, as well as submit a treatment plan to be approved by the ICBC claims adjuster.

*Funding must be approved by ICBC prior to commencing treatment.

No, you do not need a doctor’s note to receive treatment. If it is necessary to continue treatment for longer than 12 weeks, we will submit a treatment plan to your ICBC claims adjuster and require approval to continue.

You will need approval from your ICBC adjuster if the treatments continue past the 12 week time period that is considered Early Access Care. As well, approval from the ICBC Adjuster is required if you are seeking treatment and the 12 weeks early access period has already passed. Don’t worry, we submit the treatment plan and request approval for you.
